St. George Housing Market Rises as Inventory Drops

So What’s Happening?

The Spectrum reported yesterday that while housing prices are rising in St. George, Utah, the number of homes available on the market is dropping.

“With the number of foreclosures and regular inventory homes for sale down in Washington County, experts in the field are confident the area has hit the bottom of the housing market crisis, and home sales are on the rise.”

St. George, Utah Housing Market

St. George offers some unique markets that other locations throughout the country aren’t haven’t as much success with. For example, the second home market in St. George is popular. Many people are looking for second homes and vacation properties in Washington County. The area also owes its success to such affordable pricing.

It’s a Seller’s Market

Cindy Campbell, President of the Washington County Board says that now “It’s becoming a seller’s market.” More and more people are able to sell their homes at higher prices because of the falling availability.

Adding to the increase in people selling their homes, there’s an increase in building permits. Since people can’t find homes, they’re just building them instead. This means that land inventory is also running out and construction rates are rising. Again, sellers should start thinking about selling about now.
